A groundbreaking approach that provides a solid technical foundation. It can also help pianists overcome technical and musical limitations as well as cure playing-related injuries.

Not at all! A solid technical foundation is needed for every student and Anthony incorporates the Approach into every lesson with students of all levels. With this technical foundation, great musical making is possible. As Sergei Rachmaninov said: “There is no interpretation without technique”.

If you are looking for success, first step is acquiring a decent instrument. This means an acoustic piano is absolutely essential. As a last resort, a high level digital keyboard with weighted keys and a concert grand action may be used at first. However, progress and technical acquisition will be slower, and it will be essential to upgrade to an acoustic piano within the first two years.

For young beginners, lessons are 45 minutes in length and include practical, theory and other musical instruction. This expands to 60 minute lessons at an appropriate level, with some students taking two lessons per week as they advance to the higher levels.

“I truly value every lesson I have with Anthony. He offers me detailed practical solutions to my technical problems as well as considered advice on performance and interpretation of the works I’m studying and invaluable suggestions for improving my practice. I’m a mature-age student without a strong music theory background and I really appreciate his patience and persistence. I come away from each lesson with renewed inspiration. I am now playing pieces I never thought I could manage.
